East Bay Regional Parks
Incorporated in 1878, Berkeley continues to
welcome newcomers from all backgrounds, foster close
community ties, and live up to its reputation as an
innovative, exciting, and fun place to live. When asked
what they like most about living in Berkeley, residents
repeatedly cite cultural diversity, art, beautiful
parks, innovative businesses, and friendliness amongst
neighbors.
The City of Albany is dedicated to maintaining
its small town ambience, responding to the needs of
the community, and providing a safe, healthy environment
now and in the future.
El Cerrito is a city that boasts a great location,
pleasant climate, stable residential neighborhoods,
good transit and highway access, numerous parks and
recreational facilities, and involved residents.
Tucked among the East Bay hills just north of
Berkeley in West Contra Costa County, Kensington enjoys
a charming, small town atmosphere, spectacular views
of the bay, and easy access to the 880 corridor for
commuting to San Francisco. Two local shopping areas
serve the neighborhoods with small markets, restaurants,
a bakery, a drugstore with postal service, and other
conveniences.
Oakland
is home to an outstanding museum, internationally acclaimed
zoo, a ballet and a major symphony. In addition to
great dining, beautiful architecture, and quaint tree-lined
streets there is the magnetism of the hometown teams,
the Raiders, the A's and the Warriors. Oakland is one
of the most ethnically diverse cities in the US.
Piedmont is a small community completely surrounded
by the City of Oakland. Approximately
11,000 residents live within it's 1.8 square
miles. Piedmont is highly regarded for its outstanding
school system and city services. Its moderate climate,
tree-lined streets, and charming older homes make it
an attractive place to live. Many people move to Piedmont
for its excellent schools and cohesive, family-oriented
neighborhoods, but they often stay after their children
are grown.
